A little bit about the artist:
Linda Lynton is a British born artist now living in Woodstock after an urban career as writer and editor in New York City. She returned to her first love, art, in 2013, focusing on plein air and studio works in oils and ink drawings of the natural world in the Hudson Valley. Her deep respect for nature and wild places began early, with childhood visits to local forests and coastlines that later expanded to hiking the Himalayas and exploring remote locations in the Near East and South Asia, which have all influenced her work: Her use of color comes from India with its vibrant tropical palette, her fascination with the detailed use of line from Persian miniatures. She has lived with animals all her life and feels it is essential to keep all nonhuman beings alive, healthy and happy, in the wild and at home, so is proud to make this contribution to the UCSPCA.
